Legal

Terms of Use

These terms explain what you can expect from NapCat and what NapCat expects from you.

Effective August 27, 2026

Agreement

By downloading, purchasing, or using NapCat, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website. You must be legally able to enter this agreement, or use NapCat with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

The product

NapCat is a macOS menu-bar app that displays shortcuts, focus tools, screen naps, and local activity from supported coding agents. NapCat is an independent product operated by Huzaifa Saleem and is not affiliated with Apple, Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor, or other supported tool providers.

Trial, purchase, and license

The app includes a two-day trial without a payment card. A purchase is a one-time payment at the price and tax shown during Polar checkout; it is not a subscription. The license does not expire for the version you receive.

Promotional codes may have eligibility rules, expiry dates, and usage limits shown with the offer. They have no cash value, cannot be resold, and cannot be combined unless NapCat says otherwise.

NapCat grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive license to use the app for lawful personal or professional work. One license key may be active on one Mac at a time, and you may move that seat between Macs you own or control. You may not publish, resell, sublicense, redistribute, rent, or share the app or license key, bypass license controls, or reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Refunds

If NapCat is not right for you, email hi@napcat.app with the email used at checkout and ask for a refund. A refunded or charged-back license may be deactivated. Nothing in these terms limits refund, cancellation, withdrawal, warranty, or other consumer rights that cannot legally be limited in your country.

Updates and support

Updates that NapCat makes available for the purchased major release are included. NapCat may change, add, remove, or retire features and integrations as macOS and third-party tools change. A particular feature, integration, update schedule, or period of compatibility is not guaranteed. Support is available at hi@napcat.app.

Your responsibilities

You agree not to use NapCat to:

  • break the law or violate another person’s rights;
  • attack, disrupt, probe, or overload NapCat or its services;
  • introduce malware or attempt unauthorized access;
  • misrepresent affiliation with NapCat; or
  • circumvent security, licensing, or usage restrictions.

Third-party services

NapCat can interact with software and services supplied by other companies. Your use of those products remains subject to their own terms, privacy policies, accounts, and availability. NapCat is not responsible for a third-party service changing, failing, suspending an account, or becoming incompatible.

Marketing email

If you subscribe for a discount or product updates, you agree to receive occasional NapCat marketing email at the address you provide. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email. Buying a license does not subscribe you automatically.

Ownership and feedback

NapCat and its branding, design, code, and content remain the property of their respective owner or licensors. Buying a license gives you the right to use the app, not ownership of its intellectual property. If you voluntarily send feedback, NapCat may use it without restriction or compensation, while respecting the Privacy Policy.

Availability and warranties

NapCat is provided on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent allowed by law, no promise is made that the app will always be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every Mac or agent tool, or suitable for every workflow. Mandatory consumer guarantees and warranties that apply in your country are not excluded.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, NapCat is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for lost data caused by third-party software or services. NapCat’s total liability relating to the product will not exceed the amount you paid for the license that gave rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using NapCat at any time. NapCat may suspend or revoke a license obtained fraudulently, refunded, charged back, shared beyond its seat, or used in a material breach of these terms. Sections that are meant to survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits, will continue to apply.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated when the product or law changes. Material changes apply prospectively, and the effective date above will be updated. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions can be sent to hi@napcat.app.
