Keep the Mac awake for overnight runs
One shortcut (⌥⌘N) drops a frosted “asleep” screen over your Mac while OpenCode keeps working underneath. The nap screen holds off system sleep, display sleep and the lock timer, so a run you kick off at midnight is still going in the morning. See keep your Mac awake while agents run.
Honest about the Claude-only bits
Two NapCat features are tied to Claude Code today: approving permission prompts with Allow / Deny from the notch, and the Claude usage meter. OpenCode sessions get the live monitoring, the jump-to-tab, notifications, and the nap screen. We would rather say so than imply more than the app does.
Questions
Do I have to configure OpenCode for NapCat to see it?
No. NapCat recognizes OpenCode from your Mac's process list, read-only. There is no plugin, extension or config file - launch OpenCode and its session appears in the notch.
Can I approve OpenCode permission prompts from the notch?
Not today. The Allow/Deny approval hook and the usage meter are Claude Code specific. For OpenCode you get live session monitoring, jump-to-tab, notifications and the nap screen.
Will my code leave my Mac?
No. NapCat only reads your process list locally. The sole optional network call is the Claude usage meter, which does not apply to OpenCode, so nothing about your OpenCode work is sent anywhere.
Does NapCat work on a Mac without a notch?
Yes. NapCat can draw a mock notch and the island behaves the same. It needs macOS 13 or newer on Apple Silicon.
