GitHub Copilot CLI sessions get the live monitoring, the jump-to-tab, notifications, and the nap screen - we would rather say so than imply more than the app does.
Questions
Does NapCat need a plugin or GitHub login to track Copilot CLI?
No. NapCat recognizes GitHub Copilot CLI from your Mac's process list, read-only. There is no plugin, no config file and no GitHub sign-in - launch it and the session appears in the notch.
Can I approve Copilot CLI prompts from the notch?
Not today. The Allow/Deny approval hook and the usage meter are Claude Code specific. Copilot CLI gets live monitoring, jump-to-tab, notifications and the nap screen.
Is any of my code or Copilot activity sent anywhere?
No. NapCat only reads your process list locally. The one optional network call is the Claude usage meter, which does not touch Copilot CLI, so nothing about your Copilot work leaves your Mac.
What do I need to run NapCat?
macOS 13 or newer on an Apple Silicon Mac. It is $5 once with a free 2-day trial, no telemetry. On Macs without a notch it draws a mock one.
