# NapCat

> NapCat is a local-first macOS menu-bar app that turns the MacBook notch into a live view of Claude Code, Codex, and other AI coding agents, alongside media, focus, shortcuts, and screen-nap controls.

NapCat for Mac is an independent product operated by Huzaifa Saleem. It is not affiliated with Apple, Anthropic, OpenAI, or NapCatQQ.

Current product facts:

- Version 1.20.9 is a 2.6 MB DMG for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later.
- The app has a free two-day trial and costs $7.99 once, with no subscription.
- Claude Code and Codex have the richest session context and exact return controls. Twenty-five other local agent CLIs are recognized at the process level.
- Mac monitoring and Activity data stay local. Product analytics is optional and off by default. The optional Claude usage meter contacts Anthropic directly using the user's existing Claude Code login.
